Technology Transfer
Hawassa University actively bridges the gap between innovation and application. Our Technology Transfer initiative transforms university research into practical solutions, transferring new technologies to industries and the public to boost productivity, solve local problems, and spur economic growth.
Technology Transfer is another area of focus of Hawassa University Over the last few years, we have invented and adapted more than 20 technologies with seven granted intellectual property rights. A prime example is our suite of hydraulics laboratory instruments, which have been transferred to fourteen Universities across Ethiopia. These tools essential tests and have effectively replaced costly imported equipment, demonstrating our commitment to creating impactful, locally-sourced solutions.
